Antoine Saout is a 25 year old poker player from Saint Martin des Champs, France; one of the only two foreign players to make it into the 2009 WSOP Main Event’s infamous “November Nine”. Not a lot is known about the young Saout at this point, except that poker is a relatively new to the young Frenchman.

Saout began playing poker only about eighteen months ago. Who knew opening an online poker account at Everest Poker could be such a life changing maneuver? It certainly was for Antoine Saout, who spent only $50 to enter, and eventually win, a satellite tournament with a prize package to the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event attached.

Saout had a rough road throughout the WSOP Main Event, spending the last three days seated left of Phil Ivey, the most experienced poker pro in the November Nine with 7 WSOP bracelets to his name. Saout not only survived this strenuous position, it just may have given him enough of a read on Ivey to help him when the WSOP Main Event reconvenes on November 7th.

Antoine will not have any easy time of it as the November Nine converge on the final table. Saout is currently in the second to last chip position with just 9.5 million. Only James Akenhead has a smaller stack going into the final table, with 6.8 million. Both men are going to have to play a few exceptional hands if they want to catch the current chip leader, Darvin Moon, who is sitting quite comfortably on 58.93 million.

Saout has absolutely no documented cashes in live poker tournaments, no known history of live tournament play at all to be precise. For appearances sake, it would seem Antoine Saout is some kind of phenomenon. He began playing poker, won a seat in the WSOP, and whittled his way into the November Nine. Just imagine how awesome and prolific his experience would be – a benchmark in poker history no doubt – should he go on to win the 2009 WSOP World Championship this November ?
