High Stakes Poker Running it Twice
July 26, 2007
For some High Stakes Poker on TV is as interesting as watching paint dry.
But as I now play more ring games online than SnG’s and our home game has always been strictly a cash game - I really enjoy watching the big guns battle it out on High Stakes Poker.
Any time Daniel Negreanu is at the table it’s makes for entertaining viewing. Especially when players agree to run the hand twice … Dealing the turn and river twice giving the underdog a sporting chance to either catch up and split the pot or for one or other player to take the pot 2-0.
Running it twice is really the domain of the gambler, but bearing in mind some of the best poker players simply cannot resist crazy proposition bets “run it twice” makes alot more sense than betting on the colour of the dealers underwear.
At another HSP sesson Daniel ran a hand twice with Deeb and hit his straight second time around to split the pot. He didn’t get so lucky in this hand against Eli Elezra hitting his ace on the turn (to split) only for Eli to make his hand on the river making it 2-0 to Elezra.
