July 28, 2008

Anna Fowler has all the latest from the World Series of Poker Main Event. All the WSOP 2008 news and views from Vegas in 60 seconds thanks to PokerHeaven.com poker channel.

So it’s now down to the final table of 9 players for the World Series of Poker WSOP 2008 Main Event. But we’ve all got a long wait until November before we’ll see the final table play and eventually know who the winner of the WSOP 2008 main event will be.

World Series of Poker 2008 Main Event Final Table Players …

Dennis Phillips … $26.29m
Ivan Demidov … $24.4m
Scott Montgomery … $19.69m
Peter Eastgate … $18.37m
Ylon Schwartz … $12.52m
Darus Suharto … $12.52m
David Rheem … $10.23m
Craig Marquis … $10.21m
Kelly Kim … $2.62m

Whether these players will become more recognised with the break between the tournament and the final table starting back in November will remain to be seen. Already one player David Rheems has been receiving column inches for all the wrong reasons with an outstanding warrant for his arrest … and everyone was worried about an old timer popping their clogs before the final table.

Having beaten 6,844 other poker players it would be good if poker gains a good embassador for the game out of the most prestigious and well-known poker tournament … they can all look forward to fighting it out for at least $32 million in prize money for making it to the WSOP 2008 final table.
